Panel discussion “Intercultural dialogue”

2 june 2017

What is common for all people living on our planet? This was the topic of panel discussion “Intercultural dialogue” that took place in PenzGTU on May, 30th. The event was organized by the Office of Educational and Social Work, the International Education Office and members of Students’ Board.

The panel was devoted to feasts and traditions of different nations. Foreign students from Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Libya, Nigeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt and Russia shared interesting information about their national culture, festivals and customs. The presentations were illustrated with photos and video-fragments, the students showed national costumes and treated guests to national dishes.

At the end the participants agreed to arrange a new event – Foreign Students’ Day. They chose the date and location of the event, discussed the program, symbols and costumes.

The organizers hope to encourage intercultural dialogue in our university, to increase the number of the people involved.
